Decide which roles or professional opportunities you want to attract. Use that focus to guide your headline, About section, experience, skills and featured work.

Go beyond a job title when useful. Include your professional focus and a few relevant capabilities, but avoid stuffing keywords or implying credentials you do not have.

Use a short narrative: what you do or are learning, the problems you work on, evidence of your skills and the opportunities you are interested in. Write in your own voice rather than using a list of buzzwords.

Describe responsibilities and outcomes in plain language. Add context about projects, tools, collaboration and scope. Keep dates and titles consistent with your resume.

Prioritize skills related to the work you want. Remove outdated or unrelated items when they dilute the profile. Ask colleagues for endorsements only when they can honestly support the skill.

Use the Featured section for a portfolio, project demo, article, presentation or other public work sample. Check that links work and that you have permission to share the material.

Dates, titles, employers and major claims should not contradict each other. The profile can add detail, but avoid discrepancies that create doubt.

Include terms recruiters may search for when they accurately describe your work. Do not repeat a skill in every field or claim expertise based only on brief exposure.

Update the profile when you complete a meaningful project, gain a relevant skill or change your career focus. Small, accurate updates are more useful than inflated claims.
